General Questions
Budget, mid-range, luxury — what’s the difference?
The difference is the impression you wish to give your guests, including accommodation style, meals and more. For example, staying in a boutique hotel on a Premium San Francisco Tour is quite different than visiting Yosemite for a revitalizing digital detox hike.
Please fill out our Planning Form to get started.
Where do your offsites depart from?
Downtown San Francisco (SFO) and San Jose (SJC)
What luxury vehicles do you use?
The following vehicle combinations are used for safety, comfort and logistics:
- 1-3 guests: Mercedes-Benz GL 450
- 4-8 guests: Mercedes Sprinter (limited luggage)
- 9-15 guests: Luxury Mini (limited luggage)
- 16-50 guests: Luxury Motorcoach (restroom on board)
Your group size and total time in California will determine your final vehicle selection. Please fill out our Planning Form to begin.
Are meals included?
Meal costs are paid directly to the restaurants, with a credit card on file required for all reservations.
Our Napa Valley Vineyard Dinners are always included in your weekend wine tasting package.
What are your age restrictions?
Individuals aged 16 and up (accompanied by a guardian) are allowed on our Yosemite Digital Detox Trek. All luxury, private tours involving alcohol are 21+ only, no exceptions.
When is the best time of year to visit?
California is stunning year-round, but spring is our favorite.
Is gratuity included?
Yes. A 20% gratuity is added to all tours with more than 5 guests, longer than 4 days or reserved by a third-party supplier such as an executive assistant or travel agency.
What’s your cancellation policy?
Corporate retreats canceled…
- More than 120 days before the departure date will be charged a 20% administration fee (in addition to any third-party cancellation fees)
- Between 60-120 days will result in the loss of 50% of the deposit (in addition to any third-party cancellation fees)
- Between 30-60 days will cost 75% of the offsite fee (in addition to any third-party cancellation fees)
- 0-30 days from the tour departure date will be charged 100% of the offsite fee.

San Francisco Weekend Getaways
How long is your San Francisco Weekend Getaway?
Most of our San Francisco Offsites are for 3 days, 2 nights.
Do you offer Private San Francisco Tours for only one day?
Yes, usually involving an introduction to the city, a nice restaurant (for lunch, dinner, or both), and an additional activity in the afternoon such as on the itinerary shown here: San Francisco Offsite.
What should we wear in San Francisco?
Please bring anything you’ll need for a weekend of sightseeing, including your camera, sunscreen, sunglasses, comfortable shoes and a hat—in addition to your wardrobe, of course.
San Francisco’s summers can be surprisingly chilly, so please dress in layers.
Are event tickets included in your Sports Weekend Getaways?
No. Event tickets are not included in your luxury weekend package.
May we reserve a private guide only?
Unfortunately, no. We only offer private end-to-end luxury travel packages, with step-on guiding not offered as a separate service.
May we visit Alcatraz?
Yes, on all San Francisco Offsites two nights or longer.
Napa Valley Getaways
How long is your Napa Weekend Getaway?
Most of our Napa Valley Offsites are for 3 days, 2 nights.
Do you offer private Napa wine tastings for only one day?
Yes. Please contact us.
How do your sommeliers choose your wineries?
We carefully select your wineries based on our decades of wine tasting experience, with each winery tailored to your guests’ unique story and desired tasting atmosphere.
Are wine tasting fees included?
Yes and no. Wine tasting fees vary depending on the luxury tasting package you select.
What should I wear in Napa Valley?
Your wardrobe for Napa Valley will depend on the season. In the summer and fall, we recommend stylish but comfortable outfits—think sundresses, lightweight shirts and other nice casual wear.
During the cooler spring or winter months, we recommend keeping warmer clothing on hand, such as sweaters, jackets and layers to stay comfortable if the temperatures drops, such as in the evening at your Napa Vineyard Dinner.
Can we picnic at the wineries?
Most wineries, unfortunately, do not offer picnicking opportunities.
How can I send my wine home from Napa?
Checked airline baggage typically allows up to 1.5 liters of wine (about 1–2 bottles), while carry-on bags do not permit any. Most wineries offer shipping and wine club membership options.
Please note: International shipping may be subject to tariffs and other individual home-country regulations.
Can we bring our children on a Private Napa Valley Tour?
No. All of our Napa Weekend Offsites are for 21+ only.
Yosemite Weekend Getaways
What should I bring on a Yosemite Weekend Getaway?
Please bring the following for each style of Yosemite Offsite:
Tent Camping: Bring a backpack with a change of clothes for 2-3 days of camping, including comfortable shoes and a warm jacket. Also, bring any toiletries you may need such as toothbrush, wet wipes, hand sanitizer and deodorant. All of your camping equipment, including pillow, mattress, tent, goose-down sleeping bag and more is provided.
Luxury Hotel: In addition to a comfortable wardrobe, we recommend you wear walking shoes, a hat to protect yourself from the sun and sunblock (as needed). In winter, obviously dress warmly. If you plan to dine at the historic Ahwahnee Hotel, please note a dress code is required for dinner. Gentlemen are asked to wear long pants and a shirt with a collar, and ladies are asked to wear a dress, skirt or long pants with a blouse. Breakfast, brunch and lunch are always casual.
Backcountry Hiking (such as for ascending Half Dome): More information on what to bring will be provided in your hiking confirmation documents.
For all Yosemite Offsites, please bring only the items and luggage needed for your private tour (and please keep in mind, less is more). Your larger bags can be safely stored with your hotel concierge in San Francisco.
May we stay in hotels instead of camping?
Yes. Each Yosemite Offsite is planned to fit your team. This may include camping, not camping, wilderness hikes, day spas, and more. Please fill out our Planning Form to get started.
Do I need any of my own camping equipment?
No. All of your camping equipment is provided.
I’m a first-time camper. Will I be comfortable?
This, really, depends on your personal preferences. We always recommend stepping outside of your comfort zone, especially in a safe environment. But preference is not universal, and comfort is subjective.
If you are unsure about your desired camping style, please contact us.
Are your hiking activities safe?
Yes. Our private guides are highly trained with advanced certifications. When you reserve your Yosemite Offsite with us, you are teaming up with the best in their field.
With that said, there is risk in anything, even crossing your neighborhood cul-de-sac. Rest assured, we’ll do all we can to keep you safe.
Leave my phone behind – are you kidding?
No. We are firm believers that technology, although wonderful, is the cause of many mental health and social problems. We strongly recommend disconnecting from your phone while in Yosemite (relax—it’s just a few days) to reconnect with your team.
Nothing is required, of course, only highly recommended.
Do you offer Yosemite One Day Tours?
Yes, from Yosemite’s surrounding communities such as Groveland, Mariposa and Oakhurst, and for groups of 15 or more only. All other Yosemite One Day Tours begin and end in San Francisco and are for 1-3 guests only.
Note: Yosemite One Day Tours from San Francisco for groups of 4–50 are currently not offered. Over the years, we’ve found that these private tours from San Francisco feel rushed and fail to offer a meaningful Yosemite experience.
California Highway 1
How long are your California Coast Offsites?
We recommend 4 days, 3 nights to explore the California coastline properly.
Is the Pacific Coast Highway open?
The PCH’s openings vary depending on the time of year, rainfall amounts and the previous year’s fire season. Our private guides will consider these factors when creating your team’s getaway.
May we golf at Pebble Beach?
Yes, with a 2-night minimum stay at The Lodge.
What other Extras are offered on your coastline private tour?
Activities such as golfing, whale watching, privately touring Hearst Castle and more are offered. Destinations may include Monterey, Carmel, Big Sur, and Malibu.
Please speak with our guides to discover the best coastline experience for you.
What do I wear for a California Coast Tour?
The California coastline offers a mix of climates, from foggy mornings in San Francisco to sunny vineyards in Santa Barbara. Despite popular belief, summer can be surprisingly cool in California—especially near the ocean.
We recommend dressing in layers, packing a mix of lightweight clothing, a jacket for cool temperatures and comfortable shoes for walking and exploring.
Do you have luggage limits?
Yes, with all limits discussed with your team leaders beforehand. You can read more in our Reservation Policies.
