Luxury San Francisco Weekend for 3 Days, 3 Nights
Tim and Nancy, longtime Bears fans from Chicago, were craving a warm November to support their hometown team while on the road in California. But instead of juggling their confusing weekend logistics themselves, they wanted to make things easy and simple.
So they called us to create a Private San Francisco Weekend for them—a first-time introduction to the Bay Area involving sightseeing, Napa Valley wine tasting and their big NFL game on Sunday—a way for them to spend quality time together while supporting their home team on the road.
Everyone knows the current San Francisco stereotypes, ones which may involve high prices, the homeless and stories about visitors no longer leaving their heart here. But because Tim and Nancy knew there was more than one side to the story, they called us and asked about the details, even pondering whether they wanted to visit in the first place.
After a short conversation offering reassurance, we then planned their Private Sporting Weekend, one with a bespoke San Francisco itinerary tailored to their interests; all they needed to do was show up.
In the morning, although they were here for their NFL game, we began the weekend with a Private San Francisco Tour for the couple—an effortless introduction to the city’s iconic sights, designed to help them feel comfortable and experience the true heartbeat of the city.
Focusing on history—which Tim and Nancy mentioned they loved—our private guide showed them around Nob Hill, Chinatown and North Beach (the Italian neighborhood), all while they sat back and enjoyed the famous landmarks in their plush leather seats.
After lunch, with more private San Francisco sightseeing now under their belt, it was time for Napa wine tasting. But instead of driving all the way to the vineyards (it was a bit far for the couple’s time frame), we created a luxury wine tasting experience in San Francisco for them.
Sampling a curated tasting of Napa Valley reds and whites—from exclusive selections including Opus One and even non-alcoholic options—a professional sommelier then guided the couple “through” wine country, answering their California wine questions and setting the perfect tone for their Chinatown dim sum dinner tonight.
When game day arrived, the couple showed up in their colorful Bears gear, ready for their trip to Levi’s Stadium. What many visitors don’t realize, however, is that driving to Santa Clara can take up to two hours in traffic—a common headache for those wishing to sightsee in San Francisco and then attend an NFL game.
To make things easy, our private guide picked them up from their hotel and turned their drive into a Private Silicon Valley Tour, exploring legendary tech spots such as Googleplex and the Stanford University campus along the way.
Once arriving for their game, Tim and Nancy wanted to compare the 49ers tailgating to what they were accustomed to in Chicago. With tips from our private guide, they set off to explore around the stadium, mingling with the fans—even some rooting for the Bears—on their very first Bay Area tailgate.
Feeling more familiar with California, the couple then bantered with locals while enjoying the sunny 75-degree weather—a nice change of pace from the cold November days they were used to back in Chicago.
For Your California Sports Weekend
With their game now complete—a sad loss for the Bears and a heartbreaker at the end—Tim and Nancy met us for their ride home to San Francisco, specifically the Grand Hyatt at SFO to make their morning flight home easier the next day. Along our way back, we showed them Steve Job’s former residence in Palo Alto—because why not?
Once arriving at their hotel, the couple then thanked us for a lovely sporting weekend, one filled with famous sights, stellar information and classic California meals, the great experiences enabling them to bring those positive stories home to their friends and family.
